MEGC Plays... SAGA

It's Friday 24th January, after a Christmas of eating, drinking, painting, modelling and procrastinating, the regulars of Miniature Empire finally get together for the weekly Friday gaming.

As the official Blog for Miniature Empire, we will endeavour to bring you regular battle reports! Showcasing the amazing paint jobs of our gamers, and the table top visions we create on a weekly basis.

This week, we bring you SAGA, MEGC (Miniature Empire Gaming Club) style!  Our SAGA enthusiast George brought us SAGA and we decided to try fuse it with Warhammer Fantasy to create our own "SAGA The Lusturian Chronicles".  So not only do we have the savage vikings or ticky welsh, we have appearences from the Lizardmen of Lustria, the Local Pygmy Tribes, Elves from both sides of the coin and even Skaven rats!

So this week we have The Feast of Crows!  Featuring the Vikings, Welsh, Pygmy Tribes and Lizardmen.  All the Fantasy elements of our SAGA are taken from previous battle boards and altered to reflect their own characteristics!

After set up, it was clearly obvious that the Vikings were going to have a royal rumble with the Lizardmen, and the Pygmy Tribes had a hankering for some Welsh meat!

Needless to say, the Vikings and the Lizardmen had a few casualties this game, considering that the Lizardmen were an off shoot of the Viking Battleboard!

Lizardman warlord goes up against 4 Berzerkers, needless to say, my Warlord didn't survive 32 attacks...

Having fought off the initial reptilian assault, the Viking Hearthguard bear the brunt of a flank attack from a sneaky second unit!

Meanwhile, on the other side of the battlefield, the Pygmy warchief wrecks havok amongst the welsh warriors!

Having though the lizards would be an easy kill, the welsh Hearthguard tried to sneak a few kill points, only to have their ponies eaten by ravenous Lizardmen warriors.

By the end of the night, the dust settles to leave the Pygmies and the vikings standing.  The vikings walk away with 31 kill points and 31 lizard handbags to take back to their lady friends.  The Pygmies on the other hand feasted themselves on 29 kill points worth of prime welsh meat.

With thanks to Riot for the photos.  He's a fellow gamer here at MEGC, so please check him out and his amazing content on his blog.
